Carnegie Recruits Regional Artists For Year-Round Fundraiser
The Carnegie Arts Center in Turlock is celebrating its 10th anniversary until the summer of 2022 and is asking the community to consider the regional center when they think about their final 2021 donations.
Following the 2005 fires and several years of planning and construction, the redesigned and revitalized ACC opened to the public on September 10, 2011. For the past 10 years, the ACC has welcomed and served the community as a space for learning about and appreciating art, music, dance, theater, poetry and cinema.
As part of this year-long celebration, the ACC Anniversary Committee is soliciting donations to help increase the centre’s endowment fund. These funds, with assets now exceeding $ 2 million, generate income from investing activities that help the Council to balance and advance its budget each year. The fund itself continues in perpetuity, providing a secure future for the continuing activities of the arts center.
The goal of the 10th anniversary is to add an additional $ 50,000 to the fund during the 2021-2022 season.
As part of Carnegie’s fundraising efforts, works by local artists Vicente Rosales and Monique Wales are available for donors.
“To keep everyone excited about the Endowment Fund during our anniversary year, we have commissioned unique, limited edition works from two talented regional artists who are thank you gifts for Endowment Fund donors of $ 1,000 or moreSaid CAC Director Lisa McDermott. “Both artists used their talents to celebrate Carnegie’s magnificent buildings, old and new.”
The Carnegie is offering fun activities for families over the coming week, including “Make It: Mornings” on December 29 and 31. Meet between 10 am and noon for a fun New Year’s themed art activity. On December 29, stop to decorate a festive wreath for your New Years celebration and on December 31, come and make a party cookie for welcome New Years. It’s $ 5 per maker.
Donations received by Dec. 31 will be fully tax deductible for the 2021 tax year, but McDermott says the endowment campaign will also continue through 2022. McDermott said she welcomed questions from potential donors to the Endowment Fund and was happy to provide more details. She can be contacted by email: [email protected]
