Kenneth Reshard exhibition arrives at Firehouse Arts Center – The Post-Searchlight


A new exhibition featuring the work of Kenneth Reshard is slated to open at the Firehouse Arts Center next month.

Kenneth Reshard is a native of Tallahasseean. He attended Tallahassee Community College and Florida A&M University where he majored in fine arts. He works in many media, ceramics, painting, drawing, engraving, graphics and collage. Sometimes he combines techniques in one piece. His work is rich in both surface quality and symbolic expression. Deep colors, gold leaf and rhythmic patterns create almost musical compositions. His work combines images of African textiles, cubist fractures and modern frontality. Reshard enjoys using his hands and his mind to create works that reflect his own sensitivity and reality.

His art has been exhibited in more than 25 locations in the Southeast. His work has been published in local and international publications. Kenneth also serves on the board of directors of 621 Art Gallery, a local art gallery here in Tallahassee, Florida. He is also a member of the Artopia committee in Tallahassee and his main function on this committee is art acquisitions, where they acquire works of art from art galleries and other artists. He has been awarded several times for his artistic achievements.

The opening will take place on October 7, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Exhibition hours will be October 8-17 (daily) from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

This exhibition is free and open to the public.
