AMELIA ISLAND, FL., March 6, 2022 – A 1934 Duesenberg J-531 and a 2017 Cadillac DPi-VR were crowned winners of this year’s Best in Show on March 6, 2022, at the Amelia Concours d’Elegance, sa 27th annual edition. Marking the inaugural year under Hagerty’s leadership, the 2022 event highlighted innovative activations that complemented the event’s long tradition of showcasing the world’s finest vehicles at the Golf Club of Amelia Island and The Ritz- Carlton, Amelia Island. The Best in Show Concours d’Elegance trophy was awarded to a Duesenberg J-531 presented by Harry Yeaggy of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Intended to compete with the most luxurious and powerful cars in the world, the production Duesenberg Js were powered by 420 cubic inch eight-cylinder twin-overhead cam engines and equipped with factory-fitted twin Winfield carburettors. One of the last Duesenbergs produced, this LaGrande convertible coupe could exceed 115 mph and was originally owned by Marjorie Merriweather Post (founder of General Mills, businesswoman, socialite, philanthropist and art collector – and the woman most richest in the world).
