Weekend preview: What’s going on this weekend at SEWE?
CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) – The Lowcountry’s greatest celebration of nature, wildlife and art is back and full of exciting exhibits and some new exhibits to explore.

Animal shows and demonstrations 🐕
DockDogs® Contest: February 18 at Brittlebank Park
SEWE will host what is known as one of the most popular DockDogs® events in the country. Watch many dog breeds compete in water jumping competitions. Those wishing to compete with their dog(s) must register in advance. Opening of registrations at 9am
The contest starts at 10am

Jeff Corwin: Live Animal Show: February 19 at Center Gaillard
Jeff Corwin, television personality, conservationist and author, will host a presentation of live animals at the Gaillard Center. Seats are first come first served, so to catch Jeff and all his friends, be sure to arrive early!
The show starts at 12:30 p.m.
United States Coast Guard Search and Rescue Demonstration: February 19 at Brittlebank Park
New to SEWE this year, attend a special event at Brittlebank Park led by the US Coast Guard. Come see USCG Air Station Savannah perform a special search and rescue demonstration in the waters off Ashley River.
The demonstration starts at 1 p.m.
Retriever Demonstration with Mike Stewart of Wildrose Kennels “7 Habits of the Highly Successful Hunting Dog”: February 20 at Brittlebank Park
Come watch a presentation of unique training techniques for upland and waterfowl hunting dogs. Participants in this event can have personal interactions with the dogs, trainers and the ProPlan team.
The demonstration starts at 11:30 a.m.
Art exhibitions and auctions 🖼️
Quick Draw/Quick Sculpt & Auction: February 18 at Charleston Place
SEWE attendees can see talented artists paint and sculpt an original work of art from start to finish in just one hour. A live auction will follow for attendees to place bids on the unique paintings and sculptures.
The exhibition starts at 3 p.m.
Copley Fine Art Decoy Exhibition and Auction Preview: February 20 at the Charleston Marriott
An exhibition of world-class paintings and beautiful bird sculptures will be curated by Copley Fine Art Auctions.
The visit and the auction start at 10am
Social Events 🥂
Ducks Unlimited Oyster Roast and Lowcountry Cuisine: February 18 at the Charleston Visitor Center
Come and join East Cooper Ducks Unlimited for their 25th Annual Oyster Roast and Lowcountry Cooking. Feast on fresh oysters and Lowcountry favorites with an open bar, music, raffles and live and silent auctions. Plus, admission includes a 2022 Ducks Unlimited membership.
If you want to join in the festivities, be sure to grab your tickets soon! Only 1,500 will be available and there will be no door sales.
The doors open to 6:30 p.m.
SEWE party: February 19 at the Charleston Visitor Center
For even more fun, join the popular SEWE party and shuck oysters while enjoying a live band. This remarkable party features southern food, dancing and an open bar. This is an exclusive event that requires a VIP ticket.
The party starts at 7 p.m.
Cocktails and conversation with Garden & Gun: February 20 at the headquarters of Garden & Gun
For those feeling more laid back, head to Garden & Gun and enjoy a cocktail reception and live chat between Editor-in-Chief T. Edward Nicken and Mike Neiduski, Director of Southeast Regional Development for the Ruffed Grouse Society and the American Woodcock Society. .
After the chat, be sure to visit the store with a limited collection of quality sports and outdoor gear.

Culinary demonstrations 🥘
SEWE will once again welcome talented chefs with cooking demonstrations of the best dishes, live on stage in Marion Square. Chefs will team up with their favorite farmers for live cooking demonstrations and tastings.
Chef Demo: Callie’s Little Hot Cookie Chef Morey Cooks with Watson Dorn’s Hickory Farm Diary: February 18 at 2 p.m.
Chef Demo: Prohibition Chef Analisa LaPietra Demonstration with Altman Farms Heirloom Corn Grits Farmer Will Altman: February 19 at 12 p.m.
Chef Demo: Restaurant 17 at Hotel Domestique Demo Chef Haydn Shaak with Quail Eggs from Manchester Farms Farmer Brittany and Matt Miller: February 20 at 2 p.m.
