ARTS: JULIAN EUSEBIO: BREATHE LIFE If art is a temporary escape, Julian Eusebio’s exhibition, breathe life, succeeds as a welcome vacation. The Filipino native laid down his roots in Las Vegas in the early 90s, but in his latest show he takes the warmth and vibrancy of the island lands and unveils them through more than 30 original works of art, depicting the streets of the city and animals of his homeland.

Eusebio has worn many hats, including comic book illustrator and advertising art director, but as a newly retired painter he reinvests in calm and colour. This marks your last chance to nab these pieces at naturally lit beauty like Priscilla Fowler Fine Art Gallery. You will not regret the trip.

MUSIC: STYX & NANCY WILSON 50-year-old classic rock band Styx have been happily returning to Vegas venues to delight die-hard fans for years, including memorable 2019 shows at The Palms playing the 2017 album The mission live in its entirety for the first time. This month’s return to The Venetian takes things in an exciting new direction: Not only does Styx have a new album The crown crash to tap into, the band will also be joined by Heart guitarist and occasional vocalist Nancy Wilson for all five Vegas shows. Expect to see the two acts perform together and rummaging through their individual catalogs. Where else can you get “These Dreams” and “Renegade” on the same night? COMEDY: RENDER FAILED If we’re all destined to live out the rest of our lives in a metaverse as the real world succumbs to a slow-motion apocalypse, the least we can do is have a good laugh. Failed to Render is a comedic showcase set both in the universe we know and love and also “in the virtual realm”. That means you can either watch Drew Marks, Cory “Showtime” Robinson, Tommy Sinbazo, and Matten Stewart from a chair near (but not too close) to the StarBase stage, or you can tap on a pair of VR goggles and watch it at distance. If you go in person, you can also enjoy the LaughterDARK comedy show immediately afterwards. 8 p.m. $10-$15. StarBase, eventbrite.com. –Geoff Carter
